My supervisor told me last week that I was getting a cute "mommy face" (??) and she could tell I was geining weight. When I came home I practically stonewalled DH to tell me she was seeing things, because I had only gained 3 lbs since BFP! I felt that my face looked thinner form losing weight in 1st tri... so much for that.

I know, its so annoying! Just because you are pregnant doesn't give people the right to comment on your weight. I gained a very normal amount of weight with DS and people were always making comments. At first it was 'are you gaining enough weight??' or 'are you sure there's a baby in there?'...then a couple months later it was 'are you sure there aren't twins?' bla bla bla. Meanwhile the people saying these things to me were exactly svelt themselves...I had comments I'd like to say to them, if only they were pregnant so I could...lol!
I do think that honesty is the best policy, but I think that it must be paired with tact and common sense. What are people thinking? Honesty does not equal nastiness. Honesty does not equal license for someone to spew word vomit about weight, body shape, personal decisions, etc.
It is ridiculous to me that people thing pregnancy gives others the right to be completely socially inappropriate and I have no problem with politely letting them know my boundaries.
I actually surprised a very sweet, but kind of naive, man when I told him that it is not ok to call a woman fatty EVER, including during pregnancy. Luckily he didn't call me that, but he was commenting on my belly in a way that apparently he thought was cute and friendly but I found uncomfortable and was close to crossing a line. This is the same guy who tried to touch my stomach and instead I grabbed his hand and shook it. It had never occured to him that mamas didn't automatically want their bellies touched. He is a very nice man, he just doesn't have those lines. I consider it my "duty" to be polite and honest and prevent him from getting slapped by someone who doesn't roll with it as easily. LOL!
The woman who cuts my hair said, "It must be a girl. You know how they say they 'steal your beauty'" Wow. Thanks.
Co-worker said yesterday, "You're carrying just like I did - all wide in the hips too!"
It's gonna be a long five months, isn't it?
Ouch!! People are crazy! It'll all be worth it when the baby comes. (That's what I keep reminding myself)
I was looking pretty good yesterday too! At least I thought I was... was wearing a new Old Navy maternity dress and some cute flats...even put on makeup! Oh well...
Little Peanut in there, I'm storing up all these things to tell you when you are a teenager and act out!

people are a-holes. You'd think women who'd been pregnant before would know better, but they totally don't.
The mom of the 2 kids I babysit took one look at me and said "oh - i would have guessed you were due in November..." Thanks, lady. I feel awesome now.
I, too, have an idiot coworker who loves to tell me how his wife LOSES weight during each of her pregnancies. Good for her, shut your piehole.
People blame hormones for pregnant women's wrath, but really, it's just the morons we encounter.
