So I have seen people referring to their fsh (follicle stimulating hormone) and whether it's good or not, so how can I figure out if mine is or isn't ....I believe mine is 7.5.....If I understand it correctly it is what causes you to produce eggs/follicles each month??
Re: question about FSH
I like this site's charts for hormone levels https://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hormonelevels.html
I hope you don't mind me giving you an answer, this is the break down I was given from my doctor. It depends on what CD it was drawn. My guess you had it drawn on CD3, then 7.5 is good.
Expected Values-
Prepubertal: <5.0
Follicular: 2.5-10.2
Midcycle: 3.4-33.4
Luteal: 1.5-9.1
Postmenopausal: 23.0-116.3
It is good to have it (obviously) because you are right, it stimulates you to produce follicles. But, if it is too high that means it is working too hard to stimulate things and it isn't getting "shut off" by the proper functioning of the ovaries. Mine was 8.4 and I was told that was normal. I believe anything under 12.5 is considered normal.
ETA: Under 12.5 is what my RE told me he was looking for on CD3 b/w.
