My best friend is insisting that you should not surprise a pregnant woman and wants me to know about my shower beforehand. I'm kind of hoping my shower is a surprise. I told her this and she groaned. Any thoughts?

I think you'll change your mind when you're 30+ weeks pregnant, have a limited supply of "cute" clothes, and are sometimes too tired to think past a pony tail.

My mom is planning a surprise shower too...but I have a feeling my DH will make sure i'm looking half-decent for the occasion.

If my baby shower was a surprise ... I wouldnt have been there ! I felt like udder *** that day , I had to get up so early to get my self to look decent because I just felt so horrible lol . and mine was at 34 weeks lol

I really don't understand the surprise showers they have in the northeast, but I'd say that if she's the hostess it's her call.

I'm lost. What exactly is the "surprise"? You know you're going to have a shower. So- any plan w/ her or anyone close to you that is even the tiniest bit out of the "norm", yo'ure going to be thinking "Oh- this might be it!".

I don't get the allure of this. You know you're getting a shower- what's the real surprise w/ not knowing the date?
