Biggest scare of my life.

I was at the grocery store.. leaving, buggy full.. put baby in his carseat.. put diaper bag in the floor, and usually go around to turn the car on and pop he trunk, well.. I somehow pressed the LOCK button and LOCKED MY FREAKING 4 1/2 MONTH OLD IN A 100 degree PLUS CAR!!!!!!!!!!! Or so I thought, I went around the other side and his door LUCKILY was not closed shut. omg.. I climbed like a monkey that

I didn't even notice that it was locked....

    I have never been so scared in my life. heart pounding.. starting to cry.. panicking.. my phone was in the diaper bag.. groceries loaded up.. sleeping baby.. I FREAKED OUT!! THANK GODDDDDDDDDDDDD his door was not shut all the way.. =(

    OMG!  This is one of my biggest fears!!!  I am always triple checking that I have my key in my hand when I put DS in the car!  Thank goodness all worked out...and I bet it never happens again!

    Scary! I should know. We had a scare just like this after our visit to the zoo this summer. It was also in the 90s that day, and ever since the remote start on my car went on the fritz, the car locks the doors as soon as you start it instead of when you put it in drive like you're supposed to. Well, I put DS in the car and then started loading the stroller and DH started the car, but then got back out to smoke a cigarette (stupid cigarettes! So glad he quit!). Well, when he got out, he closed the door. Luckily I had forgotten to close DS's door, but I panicked until I realized it! Glad everything's ok!

    I always leave the back door open, and open my door before closing his because I'm so afraid of this.  I'm glad everything is ok!!

    Yes that is VERY scary.. I always make sure a door is open before I shut my kids doors. I won't close theirs until mine is open even if I'm standing inbetween the door. My door has to be open before I turn around and close theirs because I fear that happening.. Glad his door wasn't fully shut! Which is another fear of mine haha. the door opening while driving. This happened to my sister when she was little (car seats weren't as big back then i guess and she was 6).. Someone had borrowed my moms car and my sister climbed in on the opposite side.. My mom turned the corner and out fell my sister! Luckily they were in the parking lot still, but she lost her fresh permanent tooth! this was 20 years ago...

    what a scare, I fear that too.

     

    just have to say though, that I was a little sister who fell out of the car about 25 years ago, I remember getting in the back seat and my mom was driving, when she took the first turn my door opened and I fell out! thank god we were in a town so we wern't on a highway or anything, I don't think our car even had seatbelts back then.
