We have been following HSHHT and our girls have always been good sleepers. We are starting to get on a nap schedule. They take a nap at 8:45 or 9 every day, but it only lasts 45 minutes. When does this get longer? Their second nap (around 11 or 11:30) used to be 2 hours, but now I hear them waking up after 1 hour and sometimes they put themselves back to sleep, sometimes not. A few times I have picked the crying one up and rocked them back to sleep and then both will sleep for another hour or more so I know they are tired.
Are they taking short naps because they are not that tired? They seem tired when I put them down and they fall asleep within 5 minutes. We use controlled crying to put them down and at night (although they rarely ever wake up at night). Should we just get them up when they wake up or try to make them sleep for a certain amount of time? Thanks!
