I have been lurking on your board for a little while now and I'm seriously thinking of calling my doctor. But I feel so stupid when I think of actually saying it out loud. I feel like I am overreacting to things and the doctor will say "well there's nothing wrong with you". Does anyone have any suggstions on what to say when I call to make the appointment? All that comes to mind is "I think I may have PPD". TIA
Re: Hi everyone...
I can relate to you so much. I wrote a post below and got some great responses but ever since I wrote it down, I've been trying to talk myself out of it - I'm just overwhelmed, I'll get over it, etc. And who knows, I could be right.
So, what I did is I made an appointment for a general checkup. I need to get my cholesterol levels checked, you're thyroid can go haywire after having a baby so I'll get that checked plus I had low platelets throughout my pg so I'd like to get that checked as well. On purpose, I found a doctor in my network who specializes in women's health and has a child (I checked her bio) so I feel a little more comfortable bringing this up. I didn't have a general practice doctor - I've just been seeing my ob/gyn for annuals.
