I lurk a lot here, and am hoping for input.
After 9 mo of monitoring and RE treatment, we've had 3 iuis & 2 bfps, both resulting in early losses (one blighted ovum, and this one was only 57 at 14dpiui and 80 at 16dpiui, and 20 today at 22 dpiui, so clearly a failure).
We have an RE consult for 9:30 on Monday. Clomid was minimally helpful, and this round of gonal-f yielded one mature follicle and we triggered a bit early due to the risk of OHSS developing (lots of immature guys). RE said we're going to talk about another round of injectables, moving to IVF, etc, but I kind of want to know what to expect/be prepared for...for some reason I feel like we didn't get the full deal on the phone...
thoughts?
Re: repeated loss question/re consult
Hi and I am sorry for your losses. I've had many losses and have moved on to adoption. First, if I were you, I would not do anything else until you get tested for some things like thrombophilias (clotting disorders) and auto immune things (assuming you have not done this already?). Also, I suggest getting karyotyping (chromosomal analysis) of both you and your DH. I would also suggest maybe considering an SHG or even a hysteroscopy as well to rule out anatomic problems with your ute. My SHG missed all the polyps and scar tissue my doc found during my hystersocopy.
GL to you!
This is a great list of things that should be done before moving on. GL!!
I would suggest all of this too. (I've had 3 losses, and my first referral was to RE for RPL, and then became IF). I also had a laprascopy. DH also had SA - but I'm guessing you've done that b/c of the procedures you've already done.
good luck, I am sorry you have gone through all of this.
I'm so sorry for your losses. I have also had repeated miscarriages both on and off fertility treatments. After my 2nd loss, my doctor tested me for all sorts of blood clotting disorders and other inherited disorders as well as karotyping for both me and my husband.
When I moved to my new RE after suffering my 4th loss, he tested me for other things as well....not sure exactly what, but it was extensive. They did an SA on my husband, and sonohysterogram...he found fibroids/polyps. Then he did a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to investigate and remove the polyps and anything else that he found in there. I suffered another loss and will be meeting with my RE to find out what is next, but I would suggest you get all that bloodwork done as well as the HSG or sonohysterogram. Those were all helpful tools in finding out what could possibly be the problem.
Good Luck!
After 1 IUI, 3 IVF's with CGH/CCS testing, 10 early miscarriages, and lots of tears and frustration, we are moving on to Domestic Infant Adoption! We are so excited to see what the future holds.
