This has been the first year that we have put Alec in swimming lessons. He's been doing great. Jumps in, swims about 10 feet and will come up for a breatch of air, and can float on his own. We almost have him to the point that he can swim and flip onto his back to float, but we are not quite there.
Our instructor is a teacher and she's not able to continue swimming lessons because of her regular class schedule.
I'm worried that Alec will lose momentum.
Do you usually put your kids in continuous swimming lessons throughout the year (at the Y) or do you just let it go until next summer?
Re: Swimming Lessons and forgetting during fall and winter?
i am curious about this too!
we want my 2.5 year old to have lessons late fall/winter...
Definitely joining the Y:)
I was actually thinking about this as well. Ava is doing good but I feel like she really hasn't learned much lately. I did the Gymboree classes via the groupon special and was going to stop doing that but I think instead we will stop swimming. Since you live in Florida and it is always warm with lots of pools for now you could just continue to work on what he has learned so far at a pool and then restart in Spring.
