HI! This is my first time posting. I am a first time mom and my son is 6 months old. I'm trying to figure out the best way to keep him warm in the winter when we're out and about. He is a hot baby to begin with, especially in his car seat. We have a car seat cover which we used when he was born in March. However, at this age we do not carry him around in the car seat (he is 20.5 lbs and 28" long) so I'm thinking he'll need a winter jacket or a full suit with built in foot and hand covers. I understand we're not supposed to put anything too thick between him and the car seat straps so that leaves me wondering...what is a mom to do? TIA!
Re: Best way to keep baby warm in the winter?
a fleece jacket is usually thin enough to not interfere with the car seat harness.
We use the travel trench from www.cjsewingroom.com but there are other options like the car seat coat too. We love the travel trench.
I keep a snowsuit in the car when we're out and about though, just in case we end up needing it. (if we're in an accident when it's cold, or the car breaks down and we need to walk, etc).
