Those of you that make your own baby food

What do you use to freeze them in smaller portions?

I've heard ice cube trays work well......and they are quite cost effective.  Any other suggestions?

  • We did the ice cube tray method and then kept each fruit/veggie separate in freezer bags.

Same here.  I labeled each bag with the date and content.

  • I got the trays made specifically for freezing baby food at BRU. They have lids, and freeze in larger portions which could be good or bad.
  • The Beaba Baby Cook thing comes with little, individual containers that have attached lids.  But the ice trays are more space effective and the food is easier to remove from the ice trays than the little containers, IMO.

I also store in freezer bags.  Then I put them in order by date made in a large tupperware so there isn't a bunch of random freezer bags running all over my freezer.

This when we first started.  now I use the larger re-sealable containers made for baby food since he is eating larger "meals".
