Gianna's new thing is to try and sit up in everything....so I am thinking the swing is almost a thing of the past, since she gets on her elbows the whole time and lifts her head in the air....
sorry i don't have a direct answer but i wish nia would like her swing :-( i get so jealous of parents who can put their baby in the swing and they fall right to sleep. i used to love mine as a baby!

If it makes you feel better, KiKi has NEVER liked her swing. She will only swing for 2 mins then screams.
C doesn't love his swing either. There are times he will tolerate it, but for the most part he just screams. We used it the first couple weeks and now not so much. Maybe he will start to like it again some day...hopefully.

Alexa was never a swing baby either. There was a few weeks that she tolerated it, but I had it packed up well before 6 months.

Wow, I never realized so many of our LO's hated the swing....G loved it, never gave us a problem and used it to nap in everyday until just this week....I guess I was pretty lucky then...I never really thought about that...
Caroline loved hers and it was such a godsend. She napped in there a lot, especially when she was really little.
I don't remember exactly when we quit using it, but it seems like it might have been around 5 months when she started to obviously not like it as much. There were times after that though when I needed her to sleep so badly that I would still put her in it and sometimes it would work for her.
Ours sits up pretty straight... more like a high chair than like the little lamb chair. B still sleeps in it sometimes but I am trying to get her away from it. DH likes to do everything the lazy way so instead of doing to bedtime routine and trying to soothe her, he just puts her in the swing. It is kinda funny though, because sometimes she will lean forward and rest her elbows on the tray, or try to reach the support poles. She outgrew the little lamb chair around 3 or 3 1/2 months. That is, she started trying to sit up in it like you are describing, she didn't want to lean back anymore.
Our swing is kinda like this, but quite a bit older.
