Recommend a 2nd stroller/lightweight alternative

We already purchased an Uppababy Visita for LO but we are looking for a 2nd stroller for my mom to use. I will be returning to work after three months and mom mom will be watching the baby 4 days a week. Although I personally thing the Uppababy is simple to use I think it's a little too bulky and hard to close/open for her. I was thinking of getting a snap and go for when baby is still in the infant seat and now I'm looking for something for when he grows out of that. I was thinking of a Maclaren (or something similar) but not sure which one would work best- obviously he would still be young (under) a year when he will need this stroller. Please recommend your lightweight user friendly stroller for grandma. Thanks!

  • Quinny Zapp. Very compact, very light (13 pounds), comes with a carrying case, rain cover, and adapters for the Maxi Cosi infant seat, and easy to fold once you get the hang of it (only took me a couple of tries).

We have this one as well. Love how compact and light it is! The only thing I can say is that it does not recline, but if you're just looking for something for quick trips then this is a great stroller.

  • I'm getting the baby jogger city mini for my mom. It weighs 17lbs but it doesn't feel like much. And it's the easiest fold in the world, just pull on the strap in the seat and it folds itself in half. My mom can't be bothered with any of the umbrella strollers, too many steps for her.

  • We have a great light weight combi stroller.  It reclines for little ones and is small and compact.  I keep it in my trunk and never have any problems with it taking up too much room.  It works great for malls or jaunts around the neighborhood on the sidewalks and stuff.

  • My friend has the Joovy Kooper and recommended it as a great second/lightweight stroller

  • If we wanted a second light weight stroller, it would be the City Mini by Nany Jogger since it has decent storage space for it's size, rolls and turns remarkably well, reclines and is super easy to fold.

  • I'm definitely a big fan of the Baby Jogger City Mini, but honestly, I think that's too much to spend for a second stroller.  The Maclarens are great lightweight strollers too, but again- too much to spend and I personally don't think the fold is that easy.  Check out the Graco Ipo... it's much cheaper than the Maclarens or the City Mini, the seat reclines flat, and has a decent storage basket (for an umbrella type stroller).  The fold is super simple and it's lightweight.  My only complaint is that ours has gotten harder to steer over time- but I think that's more b/c DH took it on the beach and messed it up.
