Daycare in Miami Lakes Area???

Hello ladies.... former knottie, this is my first time visiting here and posting. I had my son back in July and I am due to return to work in October. I still have not made child care arrangements for my son. I just keep procrastinating and every time I even try to look into places I end up depressed and crying for the rest of the day. I wish I could just stay home with him, but I have no options other than maybe reducing my work schedule to part time.

I wanted to see if anyone could recommend a day care in the Miami Lakes area. I have already contacted Miami Lakes Kindercare and Kiddie Academy in Miami Gardens (both will cost approx. $1,000/month). Not sure how much it can cost for infant child care, but that is way too much. I'm sure it's worth it being that those places are not just daycares, but learning centers. Anyone able to give me some places I should check out?

Thanks so much!

  • I've been told that Miami Lakes Congregational has a school "The Growing Place" that is really good and newly remodeled :)

  • $1000 a month is a lot... my older sister (MariM) has her daughter Nadia in a family home day care in palm springs north and she absolutely loves it! It's a certified center, but at her home in an area she has set up like a classroom. Small group of about 10 children during the day. Her name is Elsa, and I'd be glad to give you her contact info if you are interested.

But if you are not comfortable with that, and prefer a daycare, try checking out www.myflorida.com/childcare. There you can put in your zip code and it will give you all of the daycare centers in your area. Then you can call around for prices and info before you even waste time driving to the place.

    Good luck! :)
