I was preparing dinner and forgot that DH just sharpened our knives. I'm in so much pain and I wish I could take something or at least have a drink to help me calm down
I have my finger wrapped in a bandage and in a rubber glove, but I'm not looking forward to it being this way for a couple of weeks. Just remember to be safe in the kitchen, ladies!
Re: I cut the tip of my finger off
That's a great idea. I guess the bright side is that I won't have to stack the cord of wood coming tomorrow!
I'm so sorry! Hope you feel better!
On the same note, didn't you say that you did this with scissors as a child too? Glad you are getting out of stacking wood
Yes! Ironic isn't it? I can't be trusted with sharp objects.
Isn't this one your DH's fault for not watching you more closely?
It's his fault for wanting a salad!
Bah!!! How horrible for you! You should call your OB to make sure they don't want to monitor you carefully for infection and maybe put you on some antibiotics. And you can have a drink. Have a half glass of wine if you think it will help. Won't hurt the baby at all and if it brings your stress down a bit may be more healthy. Also Tylenol is perfectly safe in this situation. Feel better {{hugs}}
ETA: I'm pretty sure aspirin is on the no list for pregnancy.
Which finger was it and how much did you cut off?
eesh, Brittany, if it weren't for bad luck...
And now for my morbid side...
Ditto Fergie - which finger and how much are you missing?

It was my left index finger and probably a dime size amount that was cut off. It bled all through the night and soaked through many bandaids and rubber gloves. Around bedtime it finally stopped a bit so then we applied Neosporan and a fresh bandage.
This morning was a huge challenge to shower, but DH is going to help me wash my hair later tonight. I guess I'm lucky that my hair doesn't get greasy as fast as most people's. I cleaned the cut out again a few minutes ago with peroxide and applied more Neo and bandages.
I will call my OB just to be safe to ask about antibiotics, but it wasn't anything that needed a trip to the hospital. DH does this all the time, and we have a running joke in the house that everything we buy him a new knife that we give it with a new box of bandages. I need to be much more careful, I know
