I don't know which one is Steve and which is Joe

I've got Blue's Clues on right now (and where are the boys?  playing with stickers in the kitchen.  sigh) and there's a guy w/ a green striped shirt.  He's got a bad haircut and a big nose.

  • I just have to say I'm team Joe all the way.

    I've always heard that Steve was booted because he was starting to bald.  kind of funny tidbit.

    See, I'm not alone!

    I'm team Joe too.  He does more sign language.  :)

    Steve = stripes.

    Joe = squares.

    Seriously?  Oh vey.  My little sister used to watch that crap when I would babysit her and it drove me up the wall.  Blue's Clues, Barney, and the Power Rangers.  Never again.  I'm probably going to have nightmares about that d@mn purple dinosaur tonight.

    Now I can get behind some Sesame Street or Reading Rainbow.  Kate's never seen any kid's shows though.  I wonder if PBS comes in on our TV...

    No no no.

    Steve quit the show (aka went to college) because he felt the show was stifling his artistic ability.  Also, they wouldn't let him shave his head.

    Sometimes you can catch his new video about a groundhog.

    THAT'S who that is!!  For the life of me I couldn't figure out where I knew him from!  LOL

  • Meh, I realize they are both dorks, but I think Joe is a bigger dork than Steve.  Not sure why.  I just like Steve better.

    Actually, I think it stems from when I was pregnant and one day I was perusing cafepress.com, and saw a bunch of t-shirts that say, "Joe Sucks, Bring Back Steve".  I had no idea what it meant, so I googled the phrase and figured it out.  So I think, subconsciously, those t-shirts have swayed my opinion...

    Not to get all high and mighty on the kid's shows, but don't knock it till you've actually watched it with your kid a couple of times.  Blue's Clues is in a different league then Power Rangers, and Barney is just more goofy than anything.  A and I can actually watch Blues Clues together and talk about the letters, colors, shapes, lessons.

    Fair enough.  I haven't watched watched Blue's Clues since I was 14 or 15.  I used to have to watch my siblings every day after school and it drove me up the wall, but I can see how watching it with my own child might be different.
