Yay!/ DH Vent/ Mom fail, all rolled into one...

Briley finally rolled over on her own!  She was acting tired, so I did her naptime routine and put her in the crib.  She was in there talking (as usual), and I turned on the video monitor - she was on her tummy, pushed up on her arms and looking around!  I'm such a proud mama!  I kept watching for a while, and she rolled back over... in the process, bumping her head on the side of the crib and getting her arm stuck between the slats.  I went in and moved her back in the middle of the crib and gave her a paci, and went back out, which made her angry.  She calmed down quickly though, and I texted DH that she had rolled over.

Apparently DH was in the neighborhood, because he comes through the door minutes later and wants to say hi to Briley.  He tells me "She's not sleeping!"  Wasn't there a post about this recently?  Anyway, he goes in and talks to her in the crib for a while, then walks out and... guess what?  Shes angry!  Then he leaves to go back to work.  Thanks DH!  I'm glad you love your daughter, but geez.

She stops screaming but is still awake, I check in on her on the monitor and now she looks hungry.  (Her latest thing is that she won't nurse as I am putting her down, but then chews on her hands in the crib until I come and nurse her, she then eats like she hasn't been fed in days, then passes out.)  I go in and nurse her, she falls asleep, I put her in the crib, she wakes up.  Repeat.  The whole time rubbing her eyes, so I really feel like she does need a nap.  Finally, in frustration, I decide to take a shower, because surely she will be asleep by the time I get out.

Now for the mom fail part... when I turn off the shower water she is now screaming to the point that she sounds like she is going to throw up. I rush in there and say "I'm here, Mamas here," to which her reply is a blood curdling shriek.  She is mad at me.  Fair enough.  I walk over to the crib and see that she has pooped, her diaper leaked, and she is twisting the lower half of her body to stay out of the poopy mess on her sheet.  Sad  Worst. Mom.  Ever.  Needless to say, we abandoned the nap at that point, I cleaned her up and we went to play.  Also, when I picked her up from the crib I got a big smile so apparently she forgives me.  She is now (finally) napping, only 2 hours after she first started acting tired.  Poor baby.

If you read all this, you have earned yourself a nice frosty [virgin if necessary] strawberry daiquiri Big Smile
