Suddenly hating bath time

DS has always loved bathtime up until the past 2 nights.  The past 2 nights, he kicks and flaps his hands around so much while he's in there.  We're afraid he'll hurt himself so we try to hold him down but then he just screams like crazy and cries uncontrollably (like when he gets his shots).  We thought maybe the water was a little too hot but he screams when you take him out of the tub too.  The only time he is quiet is when he is flapping all around and splashing water everywhere!  But, I really am afraid he'll hurt himself if he keeps it up.  As it is he is scratching up his legs because he slams his hands/fingers into them.  Anyone have any suggestions or ideas about what this may be?  TIA

    Is he playing in the water?

    DS kicks & "flaps" his hands up & down but he's just playing in the water & kicking toys around.  He loves it!  I just work around it (wash him while he's kicking/flapping).  I figure as long as he's happy, all is well!  But, he's not scratching himself while doing it (although, if I don't cut his nails tonight, we could see a scratch or 2 soon!)

     Ditto.I would keep his nailos down and let him play

    Well, maybe that's it.  I'm just afraid that if he keep kicking so much he'll break a foot or something.  We have him in our tub but in a baby tub in our tub.  Know what I mean?

    DD started screaming bloody murder during her baths last week. I just bought her some new toys and let her play. She seems to enjoy it again.
