Hi there! I am such a germaphobe and get hit with a severe cold every year in the winter. I am the mother of 3 kids including a 15, 11, and 8 year old.
Since they are exposed to other kids all day long, what is the best way I can prevent my kids from getting a cold & flu this season? Do you recommend the flu shot? Aside from the constant anti-bacterial soap, what else can I encourage my kids to do and what can I do as a parent to prevent them from getting sick???
Re: PREVENTING KIDS FROM COLD & FLU
Of course I recommend the flu shot. Have you asked your dr about this
Antibacterial soap is a bad idea. It can cause antibiotic resistant bacteria to develop. Basic soap and water will work fine. You can try hand sanitizer, and teach your kids to sneeze into their sleeves instead of their hands.
Other than that, you'll just have to ride it out. Kids get sick. it's a fact of life.
