I had a growth ultrasound this morning and the baby is measuring quite small at 11% and about three-and-a-half pounds. E began measuring small (and was born small at 5lbs, 9oz), but that didn't start until I was 37 weeks. The good news is that my fluid levels and blood flow to the baby looks good right now.
My doctor wants me to go in to the hospital every week now for a non-stress test and a growth ultrasound. If, at 36 weeks, his growth drops below 10%, I will be induced. It looks like my plan for a med-free birth are out the window.
She also wants me to stop working. I'm an early childhood teacher, so staying off my feet and lying down as much as possible clearly aren't compatible with work.
I have so, so much on my mind and am trying to stay calm and focused on the possibility that everything will be okay.
Re: Trying not to freak out...
nothing but prayers for you and your family - I know this has to be so stressful and worrisome.
Weekly growth u/s are a really good idea though, and I know going on bedrest will be hard, but if it's the best thing for the baby, you can do it.

Grow baby grow vibes!!!
I just wonder, how did your mom and maternal grandmother grow their babies? Smaller? If so, you might just be one of those women who grow small (and healthy) babies...
Are they worried about IUGR? I think that it is very good to check on things periodically to make sure baby is healthy, so... HEALTHY BABY VIBES too!
Here are T&P that baby will send you into labor when he/she is ready to be born and that he/she will be healthy and just the right size for you!
BTW, just because you are induced does not mean that you have to give up on a pain-med free birth - I have supported many women who have had no pain meds but been induced. Just keep that in the back of your mind.
