when's the next ultrasound?

anyone know when the next ultrasound is supposed to come around? i have one that i am paying for to have (4d), but i'm curious when the next one will be at a regular doctor's appointment. i miss seeing LO.

ugh i know!!! 28 weeks! that seems like forever. i scheduled my 28 week appointment, but they didn't mention having one, i know i get the good ol' glucose test then. so i'm jealous!!

Everyone I know does not get one after the 20 week one. As far as I know I wont get another one unless I have a problem. With Darlene I did get one weekly for the last 8-10 weeks but it was because I never felt her move so I had to do a weekly nst and fluid check.

We have a positioning one at 36 weeks and that's it. I've had three already so I can't complain but it seems so far away!

I have a fetal echo on 9/22 and then I will probably have one further along. I am semi high risk and being managed by a maternal fetal medicine MD along with my OB.

Potentially never. I am having one at 24 weeks because of some concern around Aidan's spinal pictures (though I think the issue is just that the pictures weren't clear enough and since I have a spinal defect, they want to be very sure of what they're seeing). If this hadn't been necessary, I wouldn't have gotten another one unless something medically indicated it.

I have one at 38 weeks (Christmas) for measurements of LO. Most people in my practice do not have one at 38 weeks, but I apparently have a very narrow birth canal and my OB wants to make sure LO's shoulders will not get stuck in there. If she is measuring big, my OB is going to recommend a C-section.

Most people only have one anatomy scan unless you are high risk or have a complication. I have another one in 2-3 weeks to check my AFI level but with DS I only got one. We did pay for a 3D/4D one at 30 weeks for DS from a private company and we may do that again for this pregnancy but we've already had a few u/s so we might not.

We get a growth u/s at 38 weeks. I was released from the Peri today (for the second time....LOL), so that is it for us! We get to see him one more time before he gets here.

I won't get another aside from the 'fun' ultrasound I'm paying for out-of-pocket for 3D/4D.

Depends on your insurance coverage, doctor policies, and medical need. For most people in a healthy, low-risk pregnancy, they get a maximum of 2-3 total u/s in pregnancy: one early on (dating or NT scan), anatomy scan at 20ish weeks (standard w/ all insurance coverage), and MAYBE a growth u/s in the early 30s to check things out.

Since my pregnancy is considered high-risk, I'll be having u/s once a month from here on out, starting Monday. My insurance will only cover them because of a medical diagnosis, though - otherwise, I wouldn't have any more after the anatomy scan 2 weeks ago.

With my DD, I had 3. 19 weeks, 24 weeks (needed better pictures of her spine) and another at 40 weeks to check fluid levels.

This time, I've had 2. Both at 19 weeks because they found something on my regular anatomy scan. I have to go back at 26 weeks to check on it and make sure baby is growing. HOPEFULLY I wont need anymore, which would mean baby is happy and healthy in there.

I have one again at 24 weeks for a follow up to my anatomy scan..but usually they wouldn't do one..So NOT getting another one is usually good news..

My OB said he'd shechedule me for one more at 28 weeks. I think I may want to have a 3D/4D so we might be able to see baby one last time before delivery.

i have to go for a follow up ultrasound at 28 weeks to make sure my placenta isn't covering my cervix anymore, so I guess that's when i'll see her again! plus i have my 3d ultrasound at 29 weeks

My doctor generally only does one (the 20ish week anatomy U/S). I had one at 8 weeks to determine EDD (I had thought I was 12 weeks, so good thing!) and I have to have a Level 2 U/S on Sept. 27th to look at LO's kidneys more closely.

i have a low placenta too, and i'm wondering when the scan for that will be. my doctor hasn't mentioned it since they saw it. i'll have to find out about that!

As of right now I don't expect to have anymore. My dr does have an old machine in one of the rooms, if you are in that room when you have your appt sometimes she'll take a look, but thats it.
