Dilated to 3cm...how long was it for you?

I went to the dr. yesterday and I was dilated to a 3. Cervix is still a little thick she said. I know everyone is different, so this question may be silly, but I am anxious!!!! I am hoping for contractions soon lol. (yes, the really painful ones that send me in to deliver my girlies!). With DS I went from 1-6cm  in just a couple of days and actually went in on my own the day of my scheduled induction! I dilated to a 10 within a few hours at the hospital and DS was born shortly after pushing for 1 hr. I'm scheduled for the 23rd (next Thurs, possibly next Wed if I get my dr. I really want) so I'm hoping I don't need to be induced and that contractions will start on their own.

So, how long after you dilated (if you weren't a C/S) did you have strong contractions or deliver???? I am sooooo ready and anxious, I can't even begin to describe how I feel heheSmile

    At my 37w appt (and maybe at my 36w appt, too; I forget now!) the OB said I was dilated to a "2 or a 3." I still was when I went in for my induction at 37w6d. (Well, I went in the night before for antibiotics and Cervidil and by morning I was at a 4 thanks to the Cervidil.)

    I was dilated 3cm at my 37 week apt. When they started my induction at 37w, 5 days, I was still only at 3cm. After starting pitocin and being on it for 24 hours, I had only dilated two more cm to 5... I ended up having a c-section due to high bp. I have no idea how long it would have taken me to dilate to 10 - it was pretty frustrating!

    I was dilated 3 cm at 35 weeks, and I made it to my scheduled c section at 38 weeks. Never went into labor.

    I was 3 cm on a wed, I went into labor the following Monday night.

    The day I went into labor I had an appt as well, I was 4cm at 2pm.  My water broke at 7pm.

    Thanks, my induction isn't until 38w4d and right now I'm 37w2d! I'm hoping it's soon! lol, oh well if it's not. Induction isn't the end of the world, I'm just ready!!!

    I was 4cm at 32 weeks, I pretty much had constant contractions until my water broke at 38 weeks. Good luck, your so close!
