How would you make a tail?

Just got the puppy dog hat I got for DS from Etsy for Halloween and it is adorable.  I am planning on putting him in a brown sweatsuit and maybe glueing some spots on him.  I am stuck on a tail though, how would you make a tail?  I have zero sewing / crafting skills.

    use felt and then you can glue that too (with tacky glue probably)

    BUT, I know there are more crafty moms on here than me, so I had to put that disclaimer here.

    You could use felt and fabric glue and even put a pipe cleaner in there to give it some dimension and glue it to the pants.

    If you could find black socks that are tall enough you could stuff that and then just stick it onto the bad.  Felt is great too, but one layer of felt would never be stiff enough.  You'd have to make two layers of felt with stuff between it or it would just hang straight down (unless that's what you want of course).

    If you're going to use glue, use Fabritac.  Any fabric/craft store has it.  It is specifically for permanent fabric adhesion.
