Awkward work moment

A little background: My boss (a dentist) is 40yrs old and tends to be socially awkward....a lot.

We had a patient in today who's 5-6 weeks pregnant and has an almost 2 year old. So my boss asks her how her previous birth was. First of all this is the first time she's ever been in so they have never met. Secondly you're her dentist not her OB...why on earth would you ask her how her birth was. Then he asks if she had an epi and at what point she got it. Then starts telling her about his wife's labors. The lady took it pretty well, but even I felt uncomfortable. I don't know what would posess him to think it was appropriate to aska a stanger how her birth was. Oy!

Just another example of how propriety goes out the window when it comes to pregnant women Wink

1st clomid cycle June 2012- No response :: HSG August 2012- Left tube blocked, right tube clear :: 2nd clomid cycle Aug. 2012 BFN :: 3rd clomid cycle Sept. 2012 :: BFP Sept 30th :: DS born 6/15/13 :: BFP #2 7/29/14 M/C 8/5/14 :: BFP#3 10/20/14 DD born 7/1/2015 :: Applied to be surrogate April '17 :: Transferred 1 Embryo for IFs Dec.     Since I am not pregnant anymore - or ever again! - I think this is hysterical.  But if that was me, I would have been very uncomfortable.

    Why are dentists so weird? I have worked with 4 of them so far, & only 1 has been socially normal. That would have made me so uncomfortable. That poor woman.

    Ashley- it was pretty funny, but I felt so uncomfortable for her. He does weird sh!t like that all.the.time. I've actually started writing down some of the comments, they make for great party conversation..lol

    Dani- it's gotta be just that their weird personality type are drawn to being dentists b/c he is weird....funny, but weird

    That's so weird! Makes me remember how much I <3 my dentist. He's normal & respectful. lol.

    I worked for a female dentist and she was a total nut job!!!!

    I worked for a female dentist and she was a total nut job!!!!

    Yeah, I don't know what it is.  They all have a weirdo gene!
