Infant Care Classes in NoVA???

I'm delivering at Reston Hospital in November and dropped the ball on signing up for an infant care class. All of the classes are filled until AFTER my due date. Does anyone have any recommendations of other places in the Northern VA area that offer infant care classes? Thanks so much in advance!!

    INOVA offers classes, you can try them.  If you don't get in, the nurses in the hospital are pretty good about answering questions and going through basic infant care with you before you check out.  Just mention that you are unsure of X, Y, Z and they will teach you with your child.  Also, rent the Happiest Baby on the Block from the library - great video on managing your newborn.  At INOVA Fairfax (I imagine this is true in all maternity wards) they had a TV channel dedicated to videos of infant care.  I learned how to give the first bath from watching the video.

    My friend did the same thing! Shes delivering at Reston and the classes are all full. After I told her about the INOVA classes she signed up this past weekend for classes at Loudoun Hospital coming up soon. So you may want to try there too.

    I agree - If you can't get into a class - don't freak out.  The nurses will answer all of your questions and make sure you know all of the important stuff before you leave.  And I HIGHLY recommend "Happiest Baby on the Block"!!

    Another vote for not worrying if you can't take a class.  Taking a class made me feel a little better just because I could tell myself "yep, I took a class," but I could have gotten all the info. I needed from the nurses at the hospital.  The nurse who met with us for discharge instructions was great.  She even did a demo bath for us because we said that was something we were nervous about.  When we got home, I referred to the book Baby 411 very frequently as a reference.

    Virginia Hospital Center offers a wide range of classes.  I'm taking an all day Saturday infant care class in October.
