s/o movies...is Shutter Island really scary?

I'm a wimp when it comes to scary movies and this one is next in my Netflix queue.  Is it really scary?  Because if it is, I'm not going to enjoy it and might as well delete it from the list.

TIA!

  • I wouldn't say it's scary but definitely a little freaky. I'm not into scary movies and really liked it

  • Not really scary...maybe the best word is disturbing. I watched it and then went to bed, went to bed thinking about it and woke up thinking about it.
  • Not at all.  It's more of a psychological thriller.  It's maybe a little creepy, but there are no "BOO!" moments.  I really liked the movie.  It had a good plot.  My only complaint is that I don't like Leonardo DiCaprio, so I wish that someone else had had his role.

  • Not really scary - more distrubing than anything.

  • Thanks ladies.  I think I can handle it then.  I'm one of those people that hates to look up from washing the dishes at night thinking I'll see someone starting at me from outside the window.

I'm wacked, I know, but too many scary movies as a child scarred me for life.  :)
