Ok.... I am a clueless first time mommy-to-be. I've been working on my registry. I've taken care of just about everything except for the car seat. I've registered for the travel system that has the baby carrier that comes out and clips into the car as well as an extra base for that one for my hubby's truck. I just don't know what to register for as far as the bigger carseat when the baby outgrows the infant carrier. Any suggestions? There are so many prices and brands to choose from that I'm just overwhelmed! HELP!
Re: Car Seat???
We got the Evenflo Symphony 65 for DS when he turned 1 and LOVE it! He sits up high in it and can see out the window which is priceless for that age. Everyone who sees it asks me about it because of how high it sits and they wish they had bought it for their LO. It goes up to 100 pounds!

People love the Britax seats, and I've also heard the Sunshine Radian is good.
But I would also think about a couple of things-for one, you have no idea yet when you'll need it-it could be a year from now and then you you just have to store it until then, and
car seats expire, so I'd want one that is new when I start using it (as opposed to already being a year old) so it'll last longer-and could possibly be used if there's a baby #2.
We have the Britax Boulevard as the convertible carseat for DD, but you won't need to buy one for over a year. Wait to buy one.
Added: Also, most kids outgrow the carseat height before the weight, so factor that into your decision making. You want your child in a 5-point harness as long as possible. As a side note, you also want them rear facing as long as possible (up to the carseat limits) because it's so much safer.
I recommend Britax. I also suggest not registering for it. We got DD's when she turned 1 - one was given to us as a birthday present for her and the other we saved up for. The carseats have an expiration date and if they have been sitting on the shelves for a few months, then they are purchased more than a year before you need it, the seat may expire before you are done using it (especially if you want it to last through more than 1 child).
