When did you hear the HB?

I have my first doctor's appt. on Tuesday when I will be approximately 9wks 3 days. My doc doesn't typically do an u/s until it's gender telling time but will listen for a HB when I go in on Tuesday. I've heard that I will most likely not hear it this soon but am already paranoid and would like some peace of mind with this pregnancy.

I am starting this pregnancy at about 25 lbs. overweight which sucks enough but can't do much about that now. Will that affect me when it comes to hearing the HB this early on?

I'd love to hear your stories on how early you heard your baby's HB! Smile

I believe with my previous pg I heard the heartbeats at a little over 10 weeks. I had an u/s at my 9w appointment though so they didn't even try to listen that early. GL on Tuesday.

We go Wednesday morning. I'll be 10 weeks 6 days. Don't know if they are going try for the heart beat I do know there will be an U/S and blood work. Its my first appointment

We SAW the heartbeat on the u/s at 7w5d. We are hoping to hear it on the doppler at our next appointment on 11w5d.

We saw the hb at 6w1d. The doppler didn't pick it up at 7w but we did hear the blood flow in to the placenta so, that was reassuring. We expect to hear it at my next appointment which will be 11w1d

I haven't heard the heartbeat yet, but seeing it was nothing short of the best thing that has happened. I can't wait to hear it. Maybe at our 10 week 5 day ultrasound?

I saw the heartbeat at my 7w3d ultrasound. I go in tomorrow for my second appointment and she said we should be able to hear the heartbeat on her doppler.

I'm hoping to hear it this early as well since I won't be getting an u/s. My doc doesn't do u/s in his office so I'll have to wait for that Sad

They got the doppler to work on me at 9w1d. I think they normally say that hearing it on a doppler before 10 weeks can be tricky, so don't worry if you don't hear it. On an u/s is a different story

I heard the hb at my first midwife appt. when I was 10 weeks, 1 day. I am about 30 pounds overweight and that didn't seem to pose a problem.

My mw did say before she tried to listen that prior to 11 weeks it was really a 50-50 chance of being able to hear it.

Dr. was very suprised to hear a really strong heartbeat (180bpm) last week when I was 10wks0days. Good luck - it's the best sound!!!

At my last appointment I did hear the heartbeat, 8w4d and my doctor said it was the earliest she had ever been able to hear a heartbeat. She said weight definitely makes a difference early on, since she has to aim the doppler down behind your pelvic bone to where the little guy is. I'm relatively small, so I got lucky, and it still took her several minutes and many tries to get it. I definitley did not expect to hear it, I only was hoping.

I heard it at 10 wks 4 days (and saw it at 7 wks 2 days)--the doc said that I was pretty lucky to hear it because I have a tilted uterus and baby is still tucked pretty far in my pelvis.

I hope tuesday is your day because hearing the heartbeat is amazing!!
