It still doesn't seem real (the fire)

It was just blocks away from my parents home.  My dad is in the hospital and my mom went home to get a laptop for my sister.  That's when she heard the explosion.  She was able to get her three dogs and get out before they were evacuated.  We had a house full last night but it was everything that really mattered.

We are so lucky it didn't spread.  When they showed the map of the fire zone area, my parents' house was in the corner.  And San Bruno is a very windy city so it was frightening.

They were able to get back into their house this morning and the power is back on. 

My mom works for a school in SB and we know people who have lost their homes.  We also know people who still have their homes - thank God.  It is so devastating.  And surreal.  My heart aches for so many people right now.

    It doesn't seem real. It is hard to grasp the magnitude of it really. I am glad your family is ok and everyone was able to get out safely.

    I'm glad your family is safe.  It's so frightening to think that it could have been even worse than it already was! My thoughts are for everyone effected by this disaster.
