Hi everyone! I'm 6 and half weeks pregnant and I can't wait to tell someone! When is okay to tell? When did you tell? Can I at least tell the grandparents to be?
Well I already told my sister and a friend who is pregnant.. but that is it... With my DD we told my parents first since it was their first grand child when I was 9 weeks and waited to tell everyone else at 12 weeks..
I bought a big sister shirt to tell everyone..Was waiting until I got a sonogram pic and that took three visits to Dr. she told me not to post it on fb but I could tell my parents.. She said also ot to tell too many people this early on but everything looks fine.. So ask your DR.
Now I am waiting for my parents to both come over for dinner....
It all depends on how you feel about it. The only fear in telling too early is if something happens then you have to untell. The people who I told early were people who I would tell either way. My parents, the in-laws, siblings and close friends. If I happened to lose the baby then I would need these people to get me through it. Plus if you tell people close to you early you have someone to talk all about it too!!! Pregnancy should be celebrated, it is the biggest miracle on Earth!
Its up to you, but I think you would be okay to tell your parents. We are waiting until after my first dr.'s appointment which is at 8 weeks. I don't wait to tell too many people too early both because of my job and because if something were to happen I don't want to have to explain to a bunch of people either. I also think having a secret is fun!

I just told my parents and my in-laws this weekend, and they've told everyone. I was going to wait until at least 10 weeks, but I've been so sick that it came down to either telling or going into hiding.
Try to wait as long as you can.

With all of our pregnancies we told our parents, siblings and a few close friends almost immediately. Even though I would end up m/c 4 of them, I am glad we told because I needed the support they offered during that time.
Some people don't like to tell because they don't want to untell, and that's a personal thing. If it is someone you wouldn't want to know about a m/c then you should probably not tell, but for whatever reason, I don't mind that the people I am closest to know about what is going on.
We won't tell widely until after the NT scan at 12 weeks though.
Careful if you tell anyone. Despite swearing people to keeping a secret, they don't. My advice is not to tell until you are ready for the world to know.

I look at it this way - we told the people who would go to if we had another loss, right away.
And as I have become very open about our journey, that meant everybody.
But for others, I think the logic holds. If you would go to your parents for support if you had a loss, then it makes sense to tell them now.
