Skipped a baby shower

It was for one of DH 's friends. I RSVP 'd no & just sent a gift card. I don't think DH totally gets why it would be utter torture for me to sit thru one. I just saw her pics on Facebook & am green w envy. I hate what IF has done to me.

    Good! Showers are pure eeevil. I hate them too and would totally have skipped it

    I feel the same way.  No shame in skipping it.  At least you sent a gift...  I have had to host 2 in the last year and hope that I can be done with that sh*t for a while...

    2/2011 - Confirmed no improvement - On to Donor Sperm
    4 failed IUIs in 2010
    IUI#5 and 6- with DS, BFN
    Final IUI - Lucky #7! IUI with DS - 20.Jun.2011 - 21.5 mil motile! Not so lucky - BFFN and the end of our IF journey....
    Waiting for our family to be complete through Adoption - May 2012 - Hoping our baby finds us soon!

    I think we go through enough already without subjecting ourselves to those painful situations! I would have done the same! I hope you found something fun to do instead :)

    I always skip baby showers unless I feel like I HAVE to go. And by have to go, I mean its being held within a short driving distance and its a VERY good friend. I dont blame you!

    I say good for you for protecting yourself even if DH doesn't understand.  I blocked certain people who are expecting on Facebook but still sneak a peek once in a while.  I just end up green, too.  Not sure why I torture myself and hate what IF has done to me also.  BUT, I feel like I'm going to come out a stronger and more compassionate person when this is all over.
