I've gone to the Lynnwood PD 3 times! They are so nice. They make appointments every Wednesday (I think).

With M the Pavillion provided it before you left the hospital. When I had W I learned they no longer do this due to budget cuts. The Marysville Fire Dept does, I just talked to them today about it. They do it everyother Monday, by appoitment. I know your not up this far, but they most likely know of Everett Fire Depts that also do it.

They don't anymore, unless they've started again since Max was born. We went to the Lake Stevens Fire Department. I would call the closest Fire Department and ask if they have someone certified as a car seat inspector, then you can usually schedule an appointment.

Evergreen wouldn't even allow us to leave the hospital until it was fastened correctly. Nothing like standing outside, hurting, tired, hungry with a newborn baby watching your husband, sweating, trying for over 30 minutes to secure it "just right" with the nurse......at least we knew it was safe

If your car has the latch system than it is SO easy to install it yourself!

I signed up for a Car Safe Kids car seat check at Evergreen hospital. They usually do them every couple months on a weekend morning. You get a sign up time and just drive into the parking garage and they watch you strap in a baby doll and make sure everything is installed correctly.

If your car has the latch system than it is SO easy to install it yourself!

It's actually really easy to do wrong even with the latch system. There's more to it than whether it's tight. They had to rig up both of our cars with plastic noodles in order to get it at the right angle.

DH just went in to Evergreen when K was a couple weeks old and had them check at one of the car safe kids clinics. They never checked us when we left, and turned out we had done one thing incorrectly [they said the seat was still safe, we would have been fine in a crash]. So it's a good thing he ended up having it checked!

I also really like 1800bucklup.com. Their office is in Kirkland and you can do an on-site check there.
