I did mine last week..It was pretty nice to know procedures etc..I also liked the fact that you were able to see & ask as many questions as you like... I am not sure if you feel all of that is important to you but it was nice to do...
We went a couple weeks ago. They showed us the 'all purpose' room - it's labor, delivery, post partum and infant care all in one - baby even gets their first bath there so they never leave if you don't want them to. We also got to ask all sorts of questions about their policies and other stuff that was on our minds.
I am going to a new hospital for this birth so we toured this time as well. Both were worth it and it's nice to go in with some sort of idea as what's going on. They will also tell you where to park and where to enter.

My DH and I toured the hospital today during our all-day childbirth super prep class I've never been to this hospital before, so I was glad to see where to check-in and other important locations like Triage, Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms, Mother-baby rooms, NICU. We were both really pleased with the nurses and the facilities. I like that UCH doesn't have a nursery and that unless there are complications, the baby gets to stay with mom & dad in the room. The tour was very reassuring.
We toured all three local hospitals Wednesday. We decided on which one we liked and took the 8 hour childbirth class today. They did a tour at the end, so most of the people were (at minimum) 29 weeks and at most 38.
I'd tour after you do a childbirth course (if you are) because then you'd know what the various things are for and can ask more informed questions.
Little Man (4 years old---holy cow) He's the single greatest thing I've done in my life and reminds me daily of how fun (and funny) life can be. He's turned out pretty swell for having such a heartless and evil mother.
We did a hospital tour at 34 weeks. I was the furthest along in the group (about 10 couples). It took about an hour and a half which was about a half hour too long IMHO. But I still think it was worth it, just so I will feel comfortable knowing my way around. I am also glad we were able to pre-register so it will be faster and easier day of.
I liked knowing/seeing where I would be and all the different things that are available for us while we are there. I don't want everything to be a surprise that day. We went for our tour when I was 33 weeks. It was part of my prep. for childbirth class.

We toured ours today with a condensed "What to expect during labor and delivery" class and it was more helpful than taking any other prenatal class. It was nice to see the rooms and know what would happen when and where you would be for each stage. I
we just went on the tour today actually (35 weeks). Being in LDR was a little nervewracking but I think on the day of it will be reassuring since it is somewhat familiar. I did love walking by the nursery and seeing all the tiny babies. It helped ease my fear and remember that after all the scary medical stuff, I get to have my cute little baby.
I would definitely tour...you may learn something that your hospital does that you don't like. So it gives you time to find another one or get an exception from your doctor. We toured two and decided between them based on their afterbirth proceedures. They had different routines. We took the tours within weeks 31-33. HTH!
I do - the more I can know (about anything related to the delivery) before I go for the real thing, the more relaxed/less stressed I will feel. I'm sure of course i'll still be super stressed, but at least I know what to expect to some degree and that always gives me some small piece of mind at least. We're going for ours next week.
If you are taking the childbirth classes they should give a tour, if not you can call. It's a MOST, to take a hospital tour. U can C the condition of the rooms prior to being admitted.

I went last week and am really glad that I did for two reasons:
1. DH and I are both more familiar with the layout of everything
2. We both know what to expect in terms of procedure.
