Prozac users

So as I posted I have been dealing with PPD/PPA since LO was born 1 1/2 months ago. Once I got started on Prozac (20mg) it took about a week then I was great (for at least a good two weeks). But its been really bad again(not like before) so i called my GP and she upped my does to 40mg!

 

 Anyone have any experience with Prozac or a dose this high that can offer any support. Just feel like Im failing and they are goin to keep drugging me till Im a zombie but of course Im willing to try anything. Also if you take Prozac does it decrease your sex drive or is that the depression?

    It took me six WEEKS to feel better on Prozac. I felt worse about 2 weeks into it and thought it wasn't working. I stuck with it and suddenly I felt better. I'm only on 10 mg and I felt like a new person after about six weeks. I'm not a doctor, but I was told that it can take 4-6 weeks to see an improvement. I don't think going up a dose is the right thing. Hang in there. You will feel better soon. All of a sudden you'll just feel more level. That's how it was with me. :-)

    My doctors switched me over to Prozac 20 mg from Celexa 40 mg about 4 weeks ago. I've noticed that the intrusive thoughts have been worse than they were on the Celexa along with my concentration level is like zilch! I have my follow-up appointment next week and we'll see how it goes. Oh and the whole sex drive thing...I've heard that anti-depressants can cause a decrease in sex drive in general, but the depression doesn't help either.

    ya i think the increase in does was a bad idea. I woke up this morning at 6 am and couldnt stop feeling anxious. Then a little bit later. Sucks that its saturday but I think Im only going to take 20 mg tom and then call on monday. This is just horrible
