mucus plug question

How many cm dilated were you when you lost yours? How long after does labor usually start? While I'm not 100% sure since I've never done this before, I'm pretty sure I lost mine on tuesday and now I'm worried. I'm just hoping that it doesn't mean I'm more dilated than I was and that it doesn't mean labor is going to start again soon. My contractions have been getting stronger again today and I'm just praying this little guy can hold on just a few more days!

From what I know, you can lose it anytime and it may even rebuild itself back up. You may only lose pieces of it at a time.

How far apart and how long are your contractions?

Right now about every 12 to 15 min and about 90 sec each. I'm supposed to call if I have 6 in an hour for more than 2 hours, so I'm watching them closely. I just took my nifedipine at 7, so I'm hoping that will kick in and slow them down soon!

Did you tell your dr about the mucus plug? I would say if your unsure and if you have a nurse's line, to call them and talk to them about it

I mentioned it to the OB that was seeing me in the hospital. She didn't seem like it made a difference since they won't stop labor again.

Well hopefully you just have a little trickster in there and he is just messing with you and making you crazy. He needs to stay in!!!

I was 5? 7? somewhere in between those two. I was already in labor when I lost the MP.

Not to scare you, but..

So, in retrospect, I think I lost pieces of mine Sunday and Monday before I went into labor on Tuesday. TMI-On Sunday I though it might be leftover from doing the deed, but Monday also had some thick mucus-y discharge, never a lot. No idea how dilated I was since never made it to my first internal before LO arrived.

I was 1 cm and lost mine at 36w with DD. She didn't come until a month later.
