I guess it's not just my family but why are people so concerned with what color my Childs eyes are? At least once a day someone asks me if they are still blue. I'm sorry my brown eyes are so disappointing to people. Does/did anyone else get this?
i find it interesting myself. almost all babies are born with a dark blue eye, and it changes from there. i have hazel eyes, the h has green, and the goober ended up having brown eyes.
I get it all the time too, but it's usually in conjunction with "Is he yours?" or "Is he mixed?" because people can't fathom a brown chick producing a blue-eyed baby.
Maybe some people are. Some people (in my family) have specifically stated their preference for her to have blue eyes. Like the kid has a choice. I just texted my sister for funsies and said "Poohs eyes turned brown". She says "shut up! No they didn't!". To which I reply "Oh wait, they are still blue.". She was pissed.

genetics are (is?) fascinating.
DS was born with dark brown eyes and they never changed a bit. I found out later that most babes are born with blue eyes. I didn't think about it much until recently and now I'm interested.
I also did an online eye color predictor recently for fun. DH has green eyes and both of his parents have blue eyes. The website told me that wasn't possible.
However to answer the original question - I don't remember getting a lot of questions about his eyes. I don't remember even thinking about it very much myself, so I think it's weird that other people are so invested in your LO's eye color.

People are constantly talking about Sams "Beautiful blue eyes" as if they will be like that forever. Mine are green, H's are hazel. Mine stayed blue for till after I was one and then started going more green as I got older. I hope Sams turn green like mine instead of staying blue.
If not daily, a few times a week. DH and I both have Hazel eyes. Her eyes are still blue, but they probably won't stay that way, althought we both have blue eyes in the family there is only one person that we know of on DH's side of the family so the chances are pretty freakin' slim.
They also want to know if her hair started to turn blonde or red yet, we both have dark hair.
DD was born with bright blue eyes, not navy so we figured they'd stay blue. Now they're this amazing bright blue. DH and I both have green eyes and since DD had blue we constantly got asked what color the boys eyes were going to be. They wound up having green eyes and brown hair.
Re: Is it just my family or is this another common form of douchery?

I think people are fascinated with that fact that sometimes babies eyes change color.
I know my mom got that question relentlessly when my sister was younger. She's 18 and she still has blue eyes.
its like there waiting for them to change and want to be the FIRST to know.
My godson has the BIGGEST blue eyes and she gets asked a lot if they'll change.
Oh, I know!
B has blue eyes and everyone used to ask me if I thought they would change. How the fcuk would I know?!?! (They didn't - still blue)
I think that many people consider blue eyes to be more desirable. That being said - I have brown eyes.
