Bleeding after natural miscarriage normal??

I was just told I'm having a miscarriage on Wednesday morning.  Wednesday night I passed alot of tissue and stuff.  I was taking two vicadin as often as the persciption allowed.  As of Thursday morning though I've only been spotting and have had no pain.  I'm glad not to be in pain but this doesn't seem normal.  The doctors are just monitoring my hormone levels.  Does this sounds normal to anyone?

    I miscarried late Wednesday night and passed a lot of tissue. I actually passed the sac (Dr. confirmed it) and saw it. 

    I'm still bleeding lightly. No real pain, very mild cramps now and then.

    It sounds normal to me, I guess. What did your Dr. say to expect?

    I only cramped heavily yesterday (1 day after finding out I was having a miscarriage) but I was only about 5 weeks.  I passed a lot of tissue and I am still bleeding quite a bit but I am not really in any other pain except occasional mild-ish cramps and lower back pain.  My Dr is also just going to continue checking my HCG until it gets to zero.  Has your Dr mentioned doing a pelvic or ultrasound?  I am a little concerned about just monitoring the HCG level but I know that the Dr knows what is best.

    Yep. Once I passed the tissue, my bleeding slowed down a lot.  It was done within 2 days of passing tissue.  My levels went down pretty quickly too (only had them tested 1x) and AF returned about 5 weeks later.  GL and I'm so sorry for your loss.

    Mines been going on for 7 days and I've passed some tissue everyday. I guess it just depends on your body. They have been monitoring my levels too to make sure they keep going down on there own. If they don't then eventually I will have to have a d&c. Good luck and sorry for your loss.

    Thanks for the comment.  I was at 12.5 weeks.  My doctor is just going to keep checking my HCG levels to make sure everything is okay. But since it's Friday, I have to wait until Monday for results.  UG!

    I am so sorry for your loss. The amount of bleeding you experience may depend on how far along you were. An earlier m/c would have less bleeding than a later one. I wasn't terribly far along, but at 10 weeks I lost alot of blood during the initial bleeding and tissue passing and continued to have very heavy period like flow for a week and a lighter flow for a few days after that. My pain was severe. I went through most of my natural m/c at the hospital and had three shots of dilaudid and another pain medicine shot of a different kind. Everyone is different, so as long as your doctor isn't concerned, I'm sure it's normal.

    I was at 12.5 weeks and now, three days later, my bleeding has completely stopped but I still have pain.  Guess I'll be calling the doctor Monday morning :(
