bath time >:(

in Babies: 0 - 3 Months
My DS HATES bath time.  I don't know how to help him enjoy it.  As of right now, we bath every 3 days.  I use a baby bath tub and a sponge.  I bathe his body with warm water and baby wash first, and then I wash his hair (he hates this the most).  He cries the whole time (sometimes screams).  What can I do?

    Don't know if it will work for your LO, but DD started liking bath time when I heated up the bathroom first.  I'm usually sweating buckets, but she is as happy as a clam.

    I bathe my LO every day and she absolutely loves it, never cries and loves splashing her little feet in the tub. Maybe you should try bathing more often, like every other day if you're not comfortable bathing him everyday, and he will get used to it and start liking it?? My LO's skin is far from dry and she has grown to love her bath time and I find that it tends to calm her down if she's fussy beforehand.

    I have found that keeping wet, warm washcloths over the areas i'm not working on makes my LO more comfortable....also i make sure the turtle sponge i bathe her on is warm as well....hope this helps!

    I found that making the water warmer than I thought would be ok actually made her more comfortable.

    THIS! My mom gave DS his first bath and he screamed bloody murder the whole time... when I gave him his next bath, I made the water a little bit warmer and filled the tub up more so more of him was actually in the water and now he LOVES his baths! I bathe him every night too... and his skin isn't dry or anything. He just sits there and splashes and plays with the bubbles while I'm washing him. And I make sure I wash his hair/face last so that his head isn't wet and exposed to the cold air. The only time he cries now is when you take him out of the tub!

    My LO has always hated bath time until yesterday. We did bath time completely differently. I filled the bath up and put him in their with me. He liked it so much more and even let me wash his hair with out a scream.

    This.  We use an infant tub but inside I put a $5 yellow sponge thing I got at Target and cover it with warm water before placing her in the tub.  She loves the bath and I really think it's partly because of that warm sponge.

    put a warm washcloth over his belly the whole time...I learned this the hard way with #1

    Yup this exactly for me too! Also if we're in a hurry and need to wash her quickly in the mornings one of us takes her into the shower with us.

    My son was in the NICU for a couple months and they always wrapped him in a receiving blanket before putting him in the tub for his bath.  I continued this at home and I think it helps keep him warm.  Every so often I'll pour water over him to refresh the cold water so it's warm.  As I wash him, I uncover only the part I need to wash, then cover it back up before I move to the next part.  He loves bath time, but hates when I take him out of the tub.  You also want to make sure the water is warm enough.
