Houston Babies

just found out!!!

I just found out that I'm 4 weeks pregnant! I don't feel like I am pregnant is this normal? I mean I don't think that it's hit me yet... I haven't gone to the doctors yet because there couldn't get me in for 2 weeks. Will it hit me then when the doctor tells me? Or just when my belly grows? Any body else have or have had this feeling?

Re: just found out!!!

  • congrats.  it definitely takes a bit to sink in... especially when you just found out.

it will hit you at one/all of these times...

    --when you puke/feel nauseous

--when you fall asleep at 8pm

    --when you see the doctor

--when you hear a heartbeat/see the little flicker on the ultrasound

--when you want a beer and can't have one

  • Congratulations!  It really sunk in for me the first time I saw the heartbeat on the ultrasound at the doctor's office.  Although, the morning sickness can certainly make it seem real too!  :)
  • I don't think I really "felt" pregnant until I could feel him kicking inside!  That wasn't until like 25 weeks.  lol. (even though, I had started showing a little already by that point).
  • It will come all at once.  Mine came at 7 weeks...and it did not sink in until I heard her cry.
  • I have two and #3 on the way and I have to admit sometimes it still hasn't  sunk in.

  • Congrats!!!

I still don't feel pregnant, haha. Slowly it will sink in as your body changes and you go to the doctors and have u/s.

Enjoy every second... what a wonderful blessing Smile

LOVE IT! Congratulations to OP! How very cool!

     It really hit me when:

    •  I peed on the 9th stick (with my first - I was in denial until I narrowed down that % of possibility I bought a defunkt test)
    •  I wanted a glass of port and I couldn't (with my second)
    • My OB showed me the blood draw results (with the 3rd/4th - I got pregnant with them 4 months after #2 and, again, denial)
    • My belly was the size of an ATV
  • Congratulations!!  I don't think it hit me until I saw the heartbeat, and then it got more real once I could feel him moving.
After 2 years and 6 IUIs, we did it with IVF w/ ICSI!
    BFP with no treatment!

  • It took me forever for it to really really feel pregnant. Even after my first ultrasound I still didn't. At my second ultrasound I started to feel it and then when she moved for the first time I cried and it just hit me like a ton of bricks...I had been starting to worry that I was going to be a bad mother or something...
  • congrats!  For me, it didn't hit me until we set up her room and started getting baby gifts.  Standing in her room looking at the crib I thought "whoa, there's going to be a little person sleeping in there soon!"
