So far, I haven't really stopped much other than drinking. I haven't been to the gym either - but that's been mostly an accident of work schedules and illness. I must get back to it.
What have you given up? What do you plan to give up? What are you carrying on with?
Re: What have you given up?
I gave up coffee completely. I know you are allowed to have a cup, but after waiting so long for this pregnancy, I don't want to jinx in. I haven't gone to the gym since getting my BFP, maybe in a couple of weeks I'll get back to it once I hear the heart beat and know that everything is ok.
Baby #2 on the way!
I've given up caffeine, although I never drank coffee. But I used to be a soda fiend. I figure it's healthier for me anyway.
Other than that ... I've limited my fish. We eat seafood constantly in our house -- 3-4 times a week sometimes. I'm scaling back a bit.
I haven't been to the gym either mainly because I'm exhausted and I want to get a HR monitor to make sure I don't go above the recommended rate. I really want to continue working out to help with delivery and weight gain.
I've given up drinking (obviously) and will probably give up some bad foods like french fries, etc, but may have a few once in a while. I will also try to go without having soda. I didn't drink it very often before getting pregnant but did once in a while.
I gave up... drinking, coffee, soda, the massive amounts of junk food that I used to eat, deli meats, swordfish steaks...
I think I will give up cold lunch meat - it doesn't come up often, anyway, and is one of the few things with dire consequences if it does go wrong.
No intentions to stop my coffee (unless it makes me pukey) or occasional sushi (although I'm perfectly happy with the cooked rolls).
Caffeine and pineapple.
I am a mad caffeine addict, so this is hard. Diet Mountain Dew is like crack for me. There is no moderation for me with that stuff.
Pineapple because when I was pregnant the first time around I read a lot about the canned version containing lots of Bromelain, which can cause contractions in large doses. I can eat a whole pineapple, so I avoid until 3rd tri. (Bromelain also helps get rid of heartburn, it is an enzyme).
Other than that I don't eat sushi, I don't eat soft cheese, and I don't drink, so I am not really giving up anything.
I was never really a alcohol, coffee or tea drinker, so I'm good there, but my DH and I have decided to give up any foods that have artificial flavouring, colouring, and anything that's overly processed (i.e. cheese slices, cold meat, etc.) We're trying to keep it "au naturel"!!
It's going to be tough... but it's completely worth it!!
I gave up booze, caffeine, decaf iced tea (boo! this is the hardest), sushi, and unpasteurized cheese at the farmers market.
I've only ever been one-cup-a-day anyway with coffee, but I've even started making that half-caff.
I've never liked soda so that's not an issue. I also wasn't much of a drinker, but did find mysel missing a glass of wine the other night.
I haven't been to the gym since my BFP either, and like many of you, I'm waiting both until I feel better and I really want to hear that heartbeat. I did order some prenatal Pilates DVDs that I'm waiting to come in. I know it would be early to start the modification on it, but I'd feel better if I did.
I really will miss the sushi. I'm happy to hear I can eat the cooked rolls though, I just need to figure out which ones those are!!
I love regular coca-cola, but I started giving that up before I got pregnant and haven't had any since my bfp. I would have one if I feel really nauseous and think it might help, but I noticed the sugar/caffeine combo makes me a little extra anxious and I don't need any extra anxiety in my life right now!
I've given up sushi. I'm not a big alcohol or coffee drinker, so I don't feel like I'm giving up anything there. And I've cut back on my exercise, I was running before and right now, I feel better just walking.

You want to stay under 200 mg of caffiene a day, which is 4 cups of tea.
Whether you're comfortable with that is up to you. I am, for now.
Temping, sadness, OPKs, and fertility drugs
Otherwise, I've given up caffiene and pain relief. I often get headaches and back aches, and rely on motrin or excedrin at times. Since my BFP, I haven't taken any meds, and have given up caffiene (the good news though -- I haven't had any headaches since I became pregnant!)
You can't make me give up my Sara Lee honey roasted deli turkey though :-)
caffiene and cold medicine. There's just nothing I can take to make the cold symptoms go away. Oh and DH suggested I get crystal light because I am having a hard time drinking enough water and stuff and I had to explain to him that I couldn't have it.
I haven't given up lunch meat. I just warm it up. I haven't given up soft cheeses because I only buy pasturized cheese. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't have those. Survive and be unhappy maybe.

I've given up caffeinated soda (but I'm keeping my coffee!), deli meat and alcohol (wasn't a big drinker, anyway). Other than that, everything's the same as usual.
Oh, and I've given up stressing about this whole process. I was nuts about TTC and it sucked. I want to remember this time as fun and exciting, not stressful and full of anxiety. I'm more laid back now than I've been in a long time. Let's hope it stays that way!
I've *mostly* given up coffee. I switched over to decaf. Obviouslly I've given up my wine!
I am however, still drinking propel and fresca- no caffeine, but it does have fake sugar. I read that the American Pregnancy Association agrees with the FDA that fake sugar (except for saccharin) is OK while pregnant. As is UNDER 300 mg of caffeine, so maybe I"ll do a real latte' every once in a while...
I have stopped drinking as many Diet Cokes. I used to have at least 2 a day and have only had one in the past week. I don't really drink that often, don't eat sushi or soft cheeses either, not a big coffee drinker.
Amen, Patty, except my crack is Diet Coke. It hurts when I drive past McDonald's and don't get one. I try to have a small one once a week just to keep the withdrawal symptoms away.
Obviously given up alcohol, which wouldn't be so difficult if football season wasn't starting. I follow two really bad teams (Browns and Rams) so watching a game without a few beers is going to be painful!

I have cut way, way back on my caffeine and will probably eventually cut it out all together. Once I am not so exhausted from first tri. But I went from drinking at least two cans of cherry coke to less than half a can a day.
Of course alcohol, but I wasn't really a big drinker to begin with.
I haven't taken a Tylenol since my BFP. Although I am still taking my allegra for severe allergies and prilosec for my acid reflux. I tried to go off those too, but it just didn't work.
I have also cut back significantly on junk food. I don't even want it anymore.
On a totally unrelated note;
Go Rams! I'll commiserate with you every week.
One day they will be good again.

Tylenol is actually fine, it is Ibuprofen and Aleve that is no good.
I never really drank and I have asthma so smoking was never an issue. I stopped taking the Allegra-D I have been on for years and switched to Zyrtec as soon as I got my BFP.
I guess I have been trying to eat healthier in general, I have been paying more attention to labels and trying to make sure I get fruits, veggies, protein etc. My addiction was vitamin water...I would drink 2-3 a day, if not more. I recently discovered one of my favorites has vitamin A in it so I'm not drinking that anymore and my other favorite has B vitamins. My recent vitamin test showed high B levels but I am told you need that in pregnancy so I am now limiting myself to only one a day.
I guess I'm just more aware of everything now and protective of my little peanut. I actually found myself resting my hand on my abdomen in class the other day which was awkward and I stopped as soon as I realized because right now it's just fat and I'm sure people thought I was crazy and weird lol.
I didn't really have that much to give up...I gave up drinking, but wasn't a regular drinker to begin with. DF quit smoking. I've cut back caffeine, sugar, and dairy.
I still have a soda from time to time but no diet drinks or anything with aspartame or any artificial sweeteners.
I haven't been to the gym since we found out, but I've been so sick that it's just not realistic for me to plan on going.
Obviously no alcohol, and I don't smoke anyway, but I've also given up artificial sweeteners. I don't care what anyone says about their safety, those things are not touching my baby.
Other than that, I don't plan to give anything up. I am limiting my caffeine to one cup of coffee in the morning - no afternoon caffeine anymore. Everything else that is healthy food for a child I will eat myself, including lunchmeat, domestic soft cheese, etc.
I am trying to keep my fresh fruit, vegetable, and dairy to mostly organic, which I did pre-PG but will do even more now.
I am giving up one of my cokes (I normally gave my self 2)....rest is water and OJ.
Running until I know things are good. But I have been walking instead...not over doing it.
carrying on with....eating like normal. Not changing much in the area....sticking to my diet!
DD2: February 2014
No more coffee has been really hard, also soda - but I didn't drink much before. Obviously no more alcohol...and I've cut lunchmeat/deli and hotdogs. We're also trying to do more organic or homemade on most things and eating healthier overall.
I was practicing judo before my BFP, which is also out right now - walking instead and waiting for our first appointment to get some go-aheads before increasing activity.
