dd is going through a stage where she wants to sleep anywhere but her crib. it started over the weekend when she was fine at night but the only way i could get her to nap was in our bed. same thing happened sunday and monday.
last night she refused to go down in her crib. but she's not screaming as if she just doesn't want to - she's screaming like someone is beating the crap out of her every time we put her in there. my mother's instinct is to say that she's scared to death. even when we gave up and put her in bed with me she wouldn't calm down until dh came to bed.
we've ferberized her several times, but its just not working. i thought maybe we need to consider converting to the toddler bed, but dh thinks that could be problematic.
any thoughts?
Re: refusing the crib
E has been in a twin bed since 16mo with no problems. In fact just last week was the first time she EVER got out of bed in the middle of the night on her own.
Do a trial run. Pull the crib mattress out, toss it on the floor. See how it goes. If you have to put it back in, no big deal.
