Random vent!
I was at the Aldi on Wake Forest Rd toady and every single shopping cart was missing the seat belts. It looked like they had been cut off, or just overall abused. I mentioned it to the manager (she happened to check me out) and she said "oh people break them." I asked if they ever maintain them, and she acted like she could care less. I told her that is a sad safety policy and she should have someone repair them soon.
I will be the first to admit I don't always use the belts, but I fully appreciate them when I do. Caleb loves to stand up and it makes me so nervous. I know Aldi is a no-frills store, but I just can't believe they would not keep up such an important safety item.
Re: S/O Aldi, shopping cart belts
I do use a belt and if I find a cart that is broken, we switch out for one that has a working belt. My cart cover also has a belt in it, so that helps. I've been forgetting that in the other car lately though.
The other day at Target a little girl in front of us fell head first out of the seat and onto the floor and it was bad, like really really scary bad. I make sure to use a belt and it annoys me when I find them broken or other parents not using them.
I'm not sure either. I didn't notice any, but I'm not one to put belts on J anyway. He's obsessed with buckling & then I have to unbuckle the ENTIRE shopping trip. Not worth it to me. If he has a snack, then he'll stay seated
