introducing solids

does anyone know if this applies to formula fed babies as well?

https://www.kellymom.com/nutrition/solids/solids-how.html

I wanted to wait until 6 months to start solids but LO eats a MASSIVE amount of formula.  She is SO ready

I gave her a taste of hummus the other day and she lunged and stared at the container the rest of the time I had it out

I'm hoping to do a combination of BLW and purees and my doc is ok with this, i have a call in to the ped for advice but i was wondering about the chart...if it only applies to BF babies

I am so overwhelmed by all of this

Re: introducing solids

  • There's no problem offering solids to a 5 month old.  If he takes them, he's ready.  Just don't force it.  All babies have different timing.

  • Ultimatly, it is your baby and you have to decide what is right for your LO.  We have let DD eat an almost frozen piece of peach and culiflower, it seems to help with her gums, it gets her to stop screaming at least, so we are going with it.

Solid food should not replace formula feedings though, your LO is just practicing and experimenting with food, so don't try it, and think it will make them less hungry :)  Good luck with whatever you decide!
