I passed my GTT! It just goes to show that not all overweight pregnant women end up with gd (which is such a HUGE myth anyways). Now, that doesn't mean I won't get it with a next pregnancy or that I might not even get it later, but for now---
:dances around:
Re: Major aw: Score one for the fat girl
You are not fat- you are merely resentfully overweight.
I however am fat and I'd thank you kindly if you'd call my MIL and tell her that not all fat chicks end up on their death bed, slowly killing their fetus, when they get pregnant
"It's a child, not a cheeto" Thanks mmariluh!
"Ew. I've read all of two posts from you, and you stink like rotting garbage."
so true about the myth. It runs in our family for sure. My 110 pound 5'8" cousin got it, with both her pregnancies.
You go with your bad ass self! Congrats!

:giggles: Resentfully overweight :-P True story, last night grandma balls said "Has anyone asked you if you're having twins? You're HUGE!" Today at work, our resident grandma-esque staff member said "X in the other building is due in December and she's *way* bigger than you! You don't look 7 months pregnant at all!"
lol @ momma bunny. Want I should call her personally? You know how tactful I can be :-)
He's the single greatest thing I've done in my life and reminds me daily of how fun (and funny) life can be. He's turned out pretty swell for having such a heartless and evil mother.
Woo!
I am also a fat girl who didn't have GD while pregnant.
GD and Pre-E. Now, I totally understand that it can change at *any* point, but my grandma goes on and on and on and on about how I have sky high blood pressure. Ok, every single appt I've been to, it's always been spot on. Even my OB and his nurse remarked on what good blood pressure I always have.
Even at my biggest, I was lifeguarding with no problem (other than the speedo bikini :-P ). Overweight doesn't always = high bp and diabetes.

Let us eat bon bons and hire people to wipe our as$es in celebration, no? :-)

Thing 3 = October 2010, 27weeks 4days 2lbs 4oz 14.25in
This post makes me happy. I am also a fat girl but I feel very healthy. I normally eat a good diet and splurge only on occasion. I am a very active person and honestly don't know why I'm overweight. My BP has been good, and my thyroid has been checked (as of 2 weeks ago again, because it always feels enlarged) but my b/w always comes back normal. My doctor actually told me once that some people's bodies just function normally and naturally at whatever weight they sustain, and sometimes it's not "unhealthy" for that particular person. For another person, being overweight may cause all kinds of issues, but it doesn't for every person. I do wish I were thinner, but I can usually only lose 20 pounds and then it's damn near impossible, no matter how hard I try, to keep losing!
Holy huge paragraph.
Congrats! That's always a great feeling!
I never tested positive. Granted I was skinnier then any woman who is 5'6" ever should be prior to my first pregnancy, but I got HUGE during it. Wasn't able to shed all but 30 pounds before baby number 2 so I was definitely over weight when I was pregnant with him and as well with number 3.
My best friend who is also over weight didn't test positive either.
Splendid idea. Splendid I say.
Yours waited til 28 weeks? Mine fed me that line at 10 weeks. On Christmas Day. Made for an awesome holiday! Gotta love grandmothers...
Congrats on passing!
