LO used to be really good about falling asleep on his own when we put him in his crib. Ever since he figured out how to pull himself up in the crib he thinks it's time to play whenever we put him in it. I've tried rocking him until he's almost asleep and he wakes up as soon as I put him down and he pulls himself up. Any ideas how keep this from happening?

Re: help me solve this problem please
How long has he been pulling himself up? They often do this when they reach milestones like that. They want to practice every chance they get! Usually in a few days (or weeks for some babies
the novelty will wear off and he'll go back to falling asleep like normal.
If you're ok w/ letting him fuss/cry a little, it's probably best to put him in there awake like you used to. He'll stand up, probably fuss or cry. Give him 5 mins to figure out how to get back down on his own and go to sleep. DD never cried more then 30 seconds when we did this! And in 2 days, she went right back to falling asleep like before. If you rock him until he's almost asleep (even though you said it wasn't working anyway
you could create new habits to have to break later. So it really all depends on what you're comfortable doing

Grr. It's taking us a bit longer than PP to deal with this. We tried swaddling again. We wrapped just her arms and let her feet move around. She seemed to really like the 'hug' blanket, but That worked only when she was really tired and gave up quick. Otherwise, she would break out of the swaddle with only a little effort (by design).
However, that just masked the problem. When we put her down without the swaddle, she'd still do the sit up thing even if she was exhausted. So, we did a little CIO. Now, we let her cry for awhile and go back up, comfort her, let her snuggle with us as we sway, and then we put her back down and she sometimes settles and sometimes doesn't.
She still hasn't really taught herself to lay down like we wanted her to do and we catch her sleeping sitting up sometimes.
