femara + injectables...
This may be best suited for the IF board, but I rarly make my way over there....
What is the advantage of adding Femera into an injectables cycles over just doing injectables? My RE yesterday only does one or the other (and only Femara if he knew I had done my research and knew about the birth defect risk that is claimed). He said that there was no real advantage to doing it in combo with injectables. The other RE wants to do both drugs in combo. I'll ask him during our next visit what the advantage is...but curious if anyone knew.

I am a little confused, but I will try to share with you what my doctor told me. Femara helps my progesterone levels and has been resulting in a good "egg quality", not quantity which is why he stays away from Clomid. Now the injectables I took this IUI as I was told was to help ensure the release of an egg(s) and then another shot was to time ovualation with the IUI.
I have a feeling you already know all of that which means I am just not understanding the question and basically worthless to ya girlfriend, but I am here for you! Let me know what you find out since we are both in the same boat. GL
Sounds like the injectable you had was just the trigger shot? To release the egg? One of my RE's was suggesting Femara + something like GonalF. The other was just suggesting GonalF. Trying to understand what the Femara helps with when you're already on the other stuff.....
Given what you said, maybe its the quality and GonalF controls quantity. I dunno....I'm confused too!
