S/O: b-day gift for DCP

we get a monthly calendar of themes/events/special days, etc at DD's DC. One of the days is marked as the Director/Owner's b-day - do you think we are expected to give her a gift? DH (who is more generous and giving than I) thinks the $1440/mo we give her is plenty. WDYT?

FWIW, there are 150 kids in her school, I don't think she is looking for 150 candles or bath-n-body works type gifts. I was thinking maybe taking one of DD's artworks and writing "Happy Birthday, Ms. xxx from DD" on it

    I think a card or DD's artwork would be nice.  But with 150 kids I can't imagine she is expecting anything.  If I know it is our DCP's bday I may bring cupcakes or something for her and the kids to share but I know she doesn't expect anything from the parents.

    I think a card would be nice. If she has done something really nice for you lately- maybe a gift card to starbucks or something.
