Re: Is 5 months too late to develope PPD?

  • No way. A lot of people are diagnosed at 6 or 7 months PP. Sometimes it is even hard to tell if it is PPD or just the "baby blues" until later.

If you are in need of help, there is no limitation on when you are allowed to get it.

  • No.

My OB says it's considered PPD for up to a year after birth.  I just started seeing a counselor last week for it.

  • Nope.  Up until 1 year it is PPD.  My advice is if you think it might be don't wait, go see dr asap.

  • I was just diagnosed a few weeks ago and DS is 14 months old.  It had been going on for a long time.  It just took me a long time to seek help.

  • My PPD actually hit me a 5 months PP.  I called my OB and saw him the the next day.  I have been on meds and seeing a therapist since.  GL!
