XP:Unexpected u/s....empty sac @ 6w.
Hey ladies.
I went to see my doctor today because of some pain I've been having. He wanted to make sure the pregnancy wasn't located outside of the uterus, so he took me back and used his personal u/s machine to give me a vaginal scan. He said his machine is a few years old, but I'm concerned, because he saw a sac--and that's it. He didn't seem overly worried, but he did send me to get blood drawn, and my HCG came back to be 5,060. I have to go back for another draw on Thursday, and we'll go from there.
I don't really know what to think. At 6w1d, I thought I'd see baby, and even a heartbeat, but that wasn't the case. I know it's not unheard of to NOT see those things, but of course I'm panicking.
He said that my hcg #'s for today are within "normal", and so they don't tell him anything on their own.
My LMP was 7/19, and I know for SURE that when DH and I had sex on 8/3, we conceived, so my dates have to be correct.
Just looking for some support and maybe stories of similar situations. I'm so nervous.

My first appointment was at 5w6d, which for me was 25dpo. My doctor wouldn't even do my 1st u/s at that time because she said there was a good chance we wouldn't see anything and I would just be worried over nothing.
Instead, she scheduled my u/s for almost 2 weeks later at 7w5d when she was sure we'd be able to see the baby and a heart beat.
It is possible that it is just too early. I hope you get good news in a couple of days!! Hang in there.
I'm sorry you're going through this. With DS we had the first ultrasound at 7w4d and only saw the sac. Went back a week later and saw (and heard) the heartbeat. My dr at the time didn't seem concerned either but of course it's hard not to think the worst. I'd definitely try and request another ultrasound with newer equipment. GL!

Same here. Saw a yolk sac and that was it at 6 weeks, 1-3 days. After my last two losses, I was devistated that I didn't see more and just positive it meant the worst. I've talked to several women since then that have had similar situations. I go back Tuesday for the "moment of truth" ultrasound. I am absolutely terrified. I've been waiting 3 weeks.

Great news this way, hoping you get the same! Turns out,my measurements were just super off and I was really only 5 weeks and 4 days at my last ultrasound. We went in yesterday and saw our beautiful bean with a heart rate of 180- what an amazing sound!
