Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Ahhhh When Does it Happen?

Its been so long since Ive been on here... but Im in desperate need...

WHEN will my baby sleep through the night? He is seven months and I cannot get him to sleep through the night... he still wakes up at like 12:30 and then he wakes up again at 4:00... I just want 6 hours lol!!

Also, how many ounces of milk should he be drinking at 7 months, cause he refuses to drink more than 16 ounces throughout the day... but he sure makes up for it in those two evening feedings...

  • Trevor didn't start sleeping thru the night until about 3 weeks ago, and it's still not consistent enough for me to really say that he is.  Hang in there... (that's what I keep telling myself!)

  • Unfortunately there's no set time. Your DS will sleep through the night only when he's ready

    this. Sorry

  • I agree that he will start STTN when he's ready.  But we had to do sleep training with DD because the lack of sleep was severely affecting the household.  You could research techniques and see if you are comfortable with any of them.   GL!

  • If he's having two full bottles at night, he's probably just gotten used to getting hungry in the middle of the night.  I'm guessing this is why he doesn't want to eat more during the day.  We had an issue with this too for a while and were able to cut out his overnight feedings.  He now STTN.  I bought Ferber's book for advice, we didn't do any form of CIO though (didn't have to).

  • Feed him consistently. My little guy was sleeping through the night by eight weeks (I know, everyone will hate me now!), thanks to my mom reminding us to make sure he was getting enough calories throughout the day. I know you said he refuses to eat, but I'm sure you could do a little coaxing. We ran into that problem at first, but we fed him every two to three hours without fail, just to make sure he'd get those daytime calories so he wouldn't need them at night. Good luck!
