Day one of big girl panties...fail! =(

I have been putting my DD on the potty for a about two weeks now.  Sometimes she'll sit willingly and other times I will have to beg her to go sit.  She has gone a few times, so I figure she's ready to try training panties.  So far today...she has not made it to the potty on time at all.  She gets a little upset when she has an accident and says "oh no pee pee." She will help me clean up and then we put on a new pair of panties.  She is still fussing most of the time when I ask her to go sit on the potty.  She has "never" initiated sitting on the potty on her own.  Should I stop bugging her and just let her have accidents until she WANTS to sit on the potty on her own?  I am hoping by tomorrow or the next day she'll want to sit on the potty...=) What's been your experience...

    Sorta sounds like us. It's been a week. I can tell when DD needs to go, but is a fight EVERY time to gEt her to sit on potty and just do it. Sometimes she will willingly sit, but usually doesn't go that time. We do on and off on and off, sometimes she goes on potty, others it happens on the floor. Its almost like I need to close us in the bathroom until she finally gives in and goes. I am seriously thinking about quitting. I really feel like she could do it, but I can't force her. I've tried pull ups, and undies, doesn't matter. I just have to make her go on potty when she starts doing her dance. It's exhausting, and I am sick of the struggle.

    Yup...sounds like you have a stubborn little one too! I have been bribing her with sticker to get her to sit on the potty.  She'll sit there for a minute to or two. I let her initiate when it's time to get up.  Sometimes she goes pee and sometimes she doesn't.  She told me today that her poopy hurts and is stuck...so I think she's been holding in her BM's. Hopefully she feels relaxed soon to do a number 2...I hate it when she's constipated.
